An Online Marketing Tactic That I Plan To Carry Out
When I was doing my yearly planning for 2010, I listed the five marketing strategies that I intend to carry out. Number one on that list…Article marketing. I write and submit a helpful article at least one time a week.
Just in case you are not familiar with article marketing yet, it involves crafting enlightening and useful articles and distributing them to article directories – giving authorization to anybody to republish your quality article as long as your author resource box is left intact.
Here’s some results I’ve personally experienced from article marketing:
Free Targeted Traffic To My Site…
High authority article directories, like Ezine Articles, enjoy a great deal of users (we are talking oodles of eyeballs every month). A lot of those that read my articles regularly click on the links in my author bio box and wind up going to my site. This is no cost traffic that I otherwise may not have been able to draw in to my site!
In fact, users from article directories compose a good portion of my site visitors. Such a vast amount so that, once, my website fell from its Google’s rankings and I hardly realized it. I kept getting a lot of site visits, regularly coming from the articles I have written and published in article directories – a number of them a couple of years old.
Better Rankings in Google and other search engines…
Search engine optimization (SEO) professionals state that among the most valuable methods to obtain high Google rankings for your targeted keywords would be to get one way backlinks to your site. The hot button is the anchor text of those links should be the keywords you would like to rank high for.
This technique performs so well that an online marketing expert once succeeded in having his website rank number one in Google for the keywords “coolest guy on earth” or something like that! – simply by having all his cronies link to his website with that anchor text. That’s how formidable linking is.
They are the exact same links you receive through the typically high-authority article directories all linking back to your website through the author resource box.
Lucrative Affiliate Sales…
A number of article directories let you link, not only to your website, but to an affiliate product’s sales page using your affiliate links. This means that your article gets blasted all around the Internet, accordingly increasing the possibilities of someone clicking on your affiliate links and buying the product. The outcome? More affiliate commissions for you.
This idea would be the essence for the so-called “bum marketing” or lazy marketing, which doesn’t even require you to own a site. All that you must achieve is write and submit beneficial articles to article directories and you make affiliate commissions from your articles for as long as they’re on the internet. We are talking years here.
An additional advantage of article marketing is that you develop into a published author and, for that reason, an authority regarding the subject. Actually, an acquaintance of mine got interviewed on nationwide TV because the reporter read one of her articles on the world wide web. That is media publicity that might have cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars! Unfortunately, I’ve not had that kind of media opportunity – yet!
